TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language

These exams are less accepted than IELTS and TOEFL for university entrance. Therefore, you should first contact the university you wish to apply to. The exam tests all four skills. And there are also clear grammatical elements. The exam is based on Fail, Pass, Merit, Distinction marks and you have to pass the exam according to your level. Cambridge also offers a Business English (BEC) exam.

Pearson’s test

These tests are relatively new and varied for the average student. Young Learner and Academic English General and Young Learner exams are designed to build confidence and reward positive English language skills. Therefore, it is unlikely that they will be accepted at the university level. (Higher exams can be taken in professional settings.) PTE Academic is more recognized in universities. But you need to contact the university you want to apply to. PTE academic score is up to 90.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)

This exam is required for admission to some business schools. This is not a dedicated English language test. Instead, it tests your verbal and analytical writing skills. So there is an English test component. This is a company specific exam and includes a variety of writing topics and multiple choice questions. Scores range from 200 to 800. Typically, this exam must be taken along with other English language tests to enter a business program.

Trinity Test

Trinity College London offers a wide range of English language exams. The GESE (Graded Examinations in Spoken English) is a general English confidence-building test based on listening and speaking communication skills. The ISE has a written component. Again, this is a general English exam that helps students achieve new goals. Some universities accept high ISE scores, but check with the university you are applying to. These exams have different levels. And you should apply at the level that suits you. Trinity also offers an English for the Workplace (SEW) exam and an ESOL exam. The ESOL exam is aimed at refugees and immigrants already living in the UK.
