What Is FIFA 23 Cross-Play
Players on the same platform generation will be able to enjoy this new system in FIFA 23. We have two levels of compatibility. The first one encompasses the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Stadia versions of the game. The other one is for last-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At launch, players will take advantage of the new cross-play functionality in modes such as Division Rivals, FUT 23 Ultimate Online Draft, Ultimate Team Champions, FUT Online Friendlies, Virtual Bundesliga, Play a Friend, and Online Seasons. Co-op modes in Friendlies and Division Rivals make an exception from cross-play. The feature is on by default. You can switch it off though if you don’t want to use it. Both PlayStation and Xbox generations and Stadia will have a shared market. You cannot opt-out of the cross-play market.
Nintendo Switch and PC continue to have separate markets. In Division Rivals, the leaderboard gets some changes. The Elite Top 200 will be global. Only those that have cross-play on can see it. It is easy to switch from global to local leaderboards. If you have cross-play off, you will see the Elite Top 200 rank with the same view from FIFA 22. The global leaderboard includes users from both PlayStation and Xbox generations, PC, and Stadia. The local leaderboard has a separate ranking for PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, and all three PC versions. The Club Leaderboard in Division Rivals gets the same treatment. The Squad Battle Top 200 is no longer in the game. FIFA 23 will have one prize tier for this group. EA Social is a new functionality that makes it easier to interact across platforms.
