One of my recurring activities is visiting several other blogs to get ideas for content here at Mogul Press. In addition to planning content designed for the search intent of my personas (writers and lovers of reading), I am inspired by content already written by other blogs. But calm down. It’s not copying, it’s looking for content ideas.
And, among all my research, I always come across good blogs managed by publishers , some traditional and others not so much. Publisher blogs often focus on talking about their releases and general news.
I’ll contextualize a little for those who don’t know very well how a blog works.
The blog has several goals. Mogul Press, for example, has as main objective to teach the reader about everything that permeates the literary world: reviews, spelling rules, writing and reading techniques . However, a blog may have the objective of being just informative, with day-to-day news.
Regardless of the reason, following some blogs can greatly enrich your knowledge of literature. Well, without further ado, let’s get to the point. In the next lines, I selected 5 blogs maintained by publishers that I follow regularly . Good reading!
Company Blog
The Blog da Companhia is the blog of the Companhia das Letras group and has a good frequency of content updates. With new publications almost every day, the Company’s Blog focuses on publishing texts by some columnists, announcing the releases of the editorial group, events, news and some lists.
The blog has an acceptable layout and is easy to navigate. It is important to say that Grupo Companhia das Letras is composed of several labels, including Suma de Letras, Editora Paralela and Editora Objetiva.
Blog Rocco
Editora Rocco’s blog focuses on the brand’s releases. And what releases! The publishing house is home to Harry Potter , Clarice Lispector , The Hunger Games and several other heavyweight titles. As we are in the centenary year of Clarice’s birth, there are several recent publications dedicated to her.
But there’s so much more than news about releases, just browse the blog sections. However, there is a downside. The blog is not responsive , that is, it is not optimized for reading on smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Here at Bingo, for example, about 60% of accesses are via smartphone , so the blog needs to be optimized for that device.
Intrinsic Blog
The Intrinsic Publisher has a virtue. In addition to the traditional publisher’s blog, there is also a book subscription club blog, the Intrinsic Blog . The contents are different, but complementary. While the Intrinseca Blog focuses on news, releases and texts by columnists (nothing very different from other publishers), the Intrinsic Blog is focused on the reading experience, talking about the characters in the books, reading tips and, of course, they also talk a lot. about the monthly boxes that are sent to subscribers.
There is a very clear difference in the structure of the two blogs. While the Intrinsic Blog has an old and somewhat confusing layout, the Intrinsic Blog has a modern layout , has fast loading and has more fluid navigation. But, as I said earlier, the two blogs are complementary and it’s worth keeping up with both.
Mogul Press
Perhaps Mogul Press does not have the size and relevance of the other publishers mentioned above, however, when it comes to Blog, Mogul Press gives a show in the other publishers. With recurring content, the blog deals with literature (of course), and also on relevant topics of world society.
For lovers of historical facts and world culture, the Editora Contexto Blog is a great choice.
Dark Blog
The Dark Blog is maintained by Darkside, a publisher focused on suspense, horror and fantasy. “The dark universe from fan to fan” , slogan used by them represents well what you find on the portal. You can find opinionated lists like 10 cursed horror movies in real life or the traditional publications of Darkside labels releases.
The Dark Blog is a fantasy and pleasurable adventure.
