BLUE LIGHT FILTER

Research has shown that wearing VR headsets can cause eye strain, eye discomfort, eye fatigue, and blurred vision. The American Academy of Ophthalmology states that staring at a VR screen for too long can cause eye strain or fatigue. The blue light filter reduces the amount of blue light displayed on the device’s screen. Blue light can suppress the production of melatonin (sleep-inducing hormone), so filtering out blue light can improve sleep. It also reduces eye strain from digital light, so your eyes won’t feel as tired at the end of the day.

Playroom VR: Rescue by Robots

Playroom VR is available for free, unlike PS VR Worlds, and there’s a hidden gem that I’d recommend to anyone who hasn’t played it yet. Robots Rescue is essentially a level of Super Mario 3D World that doesn’t infringe on copyright and gives a glimpse of how platforming could work in this new medium. If they made a full game out of it, I would love it, thank you very much.

Tumble

At first glance, it seems like the exact opposite of Thumper – moving from breakneck speeds and lightning-fast reactions to slowly, carefully building up a pile of items. But in reality, it’s much more than that. Some of the levels are stacking challenges, but just as often you’ll be swinging lasers or blowing things up.

A Fisherman’s Tale is the kind of game that can only exist in VR. You play a fisherman’s dummy named Bob who has to get to the lighthouse before a terrible storm – at least that’s the starting situation. In reality, the situation is much more amusing and ultimately imaginative. When Bob opens the model of his house, he sees himself and reacts to every move he makes. In the role of a puppeteer, you’ll have to accompany Bob on his adventure to the lighthouse, while manipulating the world and solving puzzles. The narrative shines, the puzzles are challenging but accessible, and the pulling of the proverbial strings in VR makes for a thoroughly charming and impressive adventure.

L.A. Noire remains one of the most unique and immersive games we’ve ever played, and in L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, you can experience the game’s most memorable missions in PlayStation VR. Seven cases from the original game are included, and the third-person perspective has been replaced with a first-person perspective that’s better suited for the platform. You no longer just take on the role of Cole Phelps, but feel like the detective in post-war Los Angeles. Just be careful not to shoot civilians when you mess with criminals.
