Do I require a passport to travel to Barbados?

The Caribbean Barbados were once part of the British empire. The influence is still seen today with traditional national cricket and afternoon tea sports. Barbadians also offers a combination of their own Calypso music and a lively island lifestyle.

Whether you enter the country through the air or sea, knowing whether you need a passport very important when planning your trip.

As a general rule, all US citizens must have a valid passport to enter Barbados. Passports must apply to all the time you plan to be in this country. Barbados tourism authorities note that visitors to the country must have a valid passport and ticket to return home.

If you apply for a passport for the first time, or if You are younger than 16, you must apply for a passport directly. Cruise ship passengers must also have a valid passport to enter Barbados. US residents who are traveling with closed loop shipping, which starts and ends in the US, is generally released from passport requirements. 

But the US Consular Affairs Bureau recommends traveling with a valid passport for potential emergencies that might require you to leave a cruise ship or use an alternative method of home transportation in the event of an emergency. Passport renewal is good to start a new trip.

With the exception of passengers on closed loop shipping, all US citizens must have a valid passport to re -enter the US most widely worked on by the US passport that is valid during boarding. Tourists without passports may not be able to get on a plane. Other documents that can be accepted to re -enter, the US includes an enhanced passport card or SIM.
