Investigate Your Company
Business and industry research helps you build and promote your brand.
Use a designer who understands your audience. Your company needs customers, prospects, and partners. Avoid them.
Ask the designer whether they’ve worked in your field or with your target client.
This allows you and your designer to focus on brand story, content generation, and best practices for your online presence, which relates to the third-party platform.
The first ingredients are vital. Website designers should know your business.

Templates Or Custom Sites?
Web designers create hybrid, custom-coded, and template websites. Is your website custom-made? Or is it a CMS with a custom theme/template.
Non-business websites seldom start fresh. Some developers still do this (as we learned in college or web programming school), but design businesses normally start with CMS systems.
Know how your site will be designed before choosing a CMS. Design or tech feature needed?
Is Your Site Mobile-Friendly?
Google’s Mobile Index needs mobile-friendliness.
Responsive Web Design uses one HTML code and URL for desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobiles (RWD). The website layout changes to screen size. ..
How to check for responsiveness: Open the webpage, modify its size, and evaluate its content. Unresponsive material is static.
Do You Practice SEO?
Ask your web designer whether SEO is included in the site to boost your online presence.
Websites require SEO. We test innovative methods and trends to share with customers. Since SEO is so involved, some people specialize.
We’re not SEO experts, but we know how to implement best practices.
How Many Pages Is The Website?
Most small companies have 5 pages.
- Start
- About
- Services
- Blog
- Contact
Some web pages have several elements. Website type and content determine page count.
Multi-page e-commerce sites (each product is a page). If you have a blog or membership, your site will center on it. Content counts pages.
Web designers build a site map and page structure for user experience. This shows site pages.
Ask your site designer about a personalized 404 page, T&Cs, privacy policy, and cookie policy. Page-by-page, designers charge.
We define Power Plan page criteria in legal papers. Post-launch page addition is usual… Don’t complete websites. Update content and services.
Create E-Commerce Sites?
Website designs for e-commerce and brochures differ.
Developing an e-commerce store? Discuss tech features with your site designer. You must know the CMS’s restrictions.
If your CMS permits online stores and payments, ask your web designer. Depending on federal and state restrictions, some payment processors only accept cash or business. Ask if the in-person point of sale syncs with online transactions.
You wish to operate the online business yourself or hire a manager. Depending on the number of items, shipping process, taxes, extensions, commerce regulations, auto mailings, etc., e-commerce may be a significant undertaking.
If you’re not ready to add things or build a store, be sure you can create one later. Otherwise, you must create a second site and connect your first.
Keep it simple and build a core site on a scalable platform.
How Many Edits/Revisions Are Included?
Checkpoints allow you to review and approve project progress. What if you don’t like your website’s first draft? Offer your designer constructive feedback.
Designers usually do 2–3 revisions. If you need more, you may pay an hourly rate.
Our strategy eliminates long mockup rounds and proceeds straight to design/build when the content is ready. We can do this since we have design expertise and a simple site architecture and approval process. After the initial intensive, we provide time for evaluation and adjustments, but the site is nearly live when the customer sees it.
Our process wouldn’t work for organizations that need board or management approval or if it’s more than 10-15 pages, i.e. non-profits, academic institutions, or businesses with diverse services.
