Godavari Arch Bridge opened in the year 1997, the same year in which the Havelock Bridge was decommissioned. It is a 2,745 meters long bridge whose substructure at each end is like a curved arch. The bridge, also known as the Rajahmundry-Kovvur Bridge was constructed by the Hindustan Construction Company It is built across the Godavari River, the largest river in South India.
