The United States and Russia were already cold. That relationship has deteriorated further since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Al-Jazeera reports that John Sullivan told Russia’s state news agency Tass on Monday. He was asked if the Russian and US embassies could be closed. In response, he said that any such move would be a “big mistake”.

Asked if Blinken signaled the closure of the embassy through the song, Sullivan said, “We will never be completely apart.
On the contrary, the US ambassador believes that Russia could sever diplomatic ties. “They can (sever diplomatic relations),” he said. There is a possibility. Although I think that would be a big mistake.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday that they were interested in holding talks with the United States on nuclear weapons. However, at the moment such discussions are unlikely.
In 1933, Washington established diplomatic relations with Moscow. The two countries have a long history of animosity since then. Nevertheless, the relationship was never severed.
