The year that is ending has been the end for many applications, web pages, functions loved by the public and even entire social networks. Nobody gets rid of technological progress or a poor user base, which is why we review 10 members of the 2.0 world for which 2018 has meant its end.
Google+
Google’s social network was not particularly popular, especially in the face of alternatives such as Facebook or Instagram. But its end has happened much faster than expected thanks to a series of security breaches that, added to its low number of users, have meant the end of Google’s umpteenth attempt to enter the world of social networks.
The porn on Tumblr
On December 17th, Tumblr porn completely disappeared. Although officially unrelated, the appearance of child pornography images caused the platform to disappear from the App Store. Although it is now available again, it was decided that porn would not have a place on Tumblr, this has caused an exodus of users.
Plusdede
Pordede’s death made Plusdede become the number one free portal when it comes to watching movies and series online. But the laws on piracy caused the site to close, although that did not prevent dozens of pages from occupying the place of the deceased Plusdede.
iPhone SE, iPhone 6S
iPhones die completely when they stop receiving updates to the iOS operating system, which is what happened this year to the iPhone 5. But the SE and 6S models are on the threshold of that phase, since they have been discontinued even though they still sell.

Steam released this piece of hardware to allow users to play their computer games from their TV. Although it was not very successful in the market, it was the best device for streaming gaming. Steam is going to replace Link with an app, so it announced that once the current stock ran out, there would be no more Link.

Snap Inc, the company behind Snapchat, launched a user-to-user payment service in 2014 called Snapcash, which functioned as a kind of PayPal. Unfortunately, Snapcash hasn’t been very successful, partly because of the fierce competition. Snap Inc announced the end of Snapcash in August.

Google’s instant messaging service has an expiration date: March 2019. During its almost three years of life, Allo has collected just under 50 million downloads, proving to be no match for the most established messaging applications. It seems that this, together with social networks, are two sectors that resist Google.
Netflix Reviews
Netflix is very clear that the opinions of its users are not especially useful. First, in 2017, it removed the star voting system, replacing it with a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Then, in July, the company reported that written reviews were no longer available, and existing reviews would be removed in August.
Play Station Vita
Sony’s last handheld console went on sale in 2011. In the almost eight years that have passed, the world of portable gaming has changed a lot, mainly due to the rise of smartphones as good gaming platforms. Competition with Nintendo 3DS hasn’t helped much either, so Sony has decided to end production of its second, and perhaps last, handheld console.

Although more used in English-speaking countries, Yahoo Messenger has been a veteran of Internet instant messaging. Yahoo!’s parent company, Oath, ended the venerable messaging program on July 17.
