With its gorgeous landscapes, stake parks, beach communities, and more the New York State is fun to explore. It’s the most popular tourist destination among locals and foreigners all year round. You will never run out of things to do and places to visit. The state also has all the best amenities. Even Cox cable and Internet plans are available here, which was something I wanted when I moved here.
If you are planning to visit New York State for the first time, these are all the best places that deserve a visit:
1: New York City
New York City is the largest city in the New York state. Also called the Big Apple, it’s a city of splendor with a small-town charm. It’s home to towering skyscrapers, some iconic landmarks, and vibrant culture.
This populous city is at the forefront of art, fashion, and food. The twinkling lights and chaotic corners of the city invite visitors to embrace its charm and make the most out of this urban adventure.
2: Statue of Liberty
If you are coming to NY for the first time, you must visit the statue of liberty. It’s the most iconic monument in the nation. The National Park Service manages the building and takes passengers on a tour of the place throughout the day.
Viewing the statue and the New York City skyline is free, but if you would like to access the crown and the pedestal, you must buy a ticket. The passes for the crown are to be booked at least 6 months in advance. In the statue’s base lies a museum home to statues, educational signs, and other historical masterpieces.
3: Times Square
It’s home to a week’s worth of attractions. The heart of Times Square is Broadway and Seventh Avenue. The ginormous screen there announces everything starting from the newest movies to shows. While you are out on Broadway, have dinner at the Sardi’s. To catch breathtaking views of the city, make sure you are there at Times Square until 2 am.
4: Niagara Falls
This natural wonder is located along the border between Canada, and the United States attracting millions of visitors. Did you know there are three waterfalls within the park? They are American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls.
All three of these waterfalls have a panoramic view. To savor the beauty, take the maid of the mist boat tour. Don’t forget to visit the theater to watch a 40-minute film about the history of the falls. On special occasions, the park often hosts fireworks. The view is spectacular.
5: Cooperstown
This town is home to the national baseball hall of fame as well as the museum is located on the southern side of Otsego Lake. Meet your favorite baseball heroes in wax statues. It’s fun to pose with the greatest base of all time.
Cooperstown town is also home to the Alice Busch theater and Fennimore Art Museum. You will also find a bunch of other cultural attractions in Cooperstown.
6: The Adirondack Park
Fan of lakes? Well, then you would be fascinated to learn that the Adirondack Park is home to 10k lakes. Apart from exploring the lakes, there is a lot more to do here, such as hiking, paddle boarding, rafting, etc.
Adirondack is also home to forest-covered hills. These hills are a part of the Canadian Shield. This park is one of the favorite holiday spots for the residents of New York. People like to come here for hiking and seeing the waterways and relaxing at the lakeside resorts and cottages. In autumn, there is an incredible display of colors here.
7: Watkins Glen State Park
This park is located south of Seneca Lake inside the Finger Lakes state parks. It is home to 19 waterfalls and some cliffs which were carved by water. It’s not just a place to see waterfalls and cliffs, visitors will find so many things to do here, such as hiking, fishing, swimming in the pool, and more. The park also has a couple of campsites for RVs and tents. Guided tours are also available for first-time visitors.
Conclusion
New York has never disappointed its visitors. Even if you have visited the state countless times, you will never get enough of it. I was inspired to explore NY after watching a documentary film named, Manhattan at my friend’s place who happened to have one of the Cox cable deals with HD cable. The movie was based on city life and its infrastructure.
