Prostitution has been practiced throughout ancient and modern culture. It has been described as “the oldest profession in the world” and, despite constant attempts at regulation, it continues almost unchanged. Prostitution is the practice of having sexual relations with other people in exchange for money or other economic benefits. It is exercised mostly by women, while the clients are mostly men. There is also, to a lesser extent, male prostitution, where the clients are also generally male.
