My vacation trip and doctor consultation

Last summer we traveled to Italy for a one-month vacation with our friends and family members. We had a full scheduled plan to enjoy Italy, such as visiting the museums, going to the beach, and discovering the cities and their monuments. My 2 kids were very excited because it is their first trip outside Al-Ain, so they wanted to do a lot of activities in Italy, especially since they like adventures in nature.

When we arrived in Italy, I can tell that the weather is way different than the weather in the UAE, so we needed some time to cope with the climate changes. A few days after arriving at the hotel, we went to the beach where we spent a fun day, the kids were happy, enjoying swimming and playing with the sand.

After a long day at the beach, we went back to the hotel, took a shower, and went for dinner. During dinner, I noticed that my kids started to scratch their hands and legs. I didn’t think it is a major issue until I noticed that they didn’t stop scratching all night, and some red patches started to appear.

Immediately, I gave them some topical cream for allergy and decided to contact their doctor. But I remember I didn’t bring my phone with me because I didn’t anyone to bother me. So I remember that the doctor once told me about the telemedicine they are applying now at the hospital where he is working, at Novomed Centers.

So I used my husband’s phone to go to the Novomed website and book an online consultation with the doctor. A few minutes later I received a confirmation of the online consultation.

At the scheduled time, I had a video call with the doctor during which I told him about my kids, and I showed him the red patches on the hands of one of my kids. He immediately asked me if we went to the beach, I told him yes. He told me that it is a kind of allergy, not dangerous, but it is better to use a topical cream for the allergy and to have some medications. And he advised me to avoid the sun for 3 days and to apply sun cream every 2 hours.

I am really thankful for Novomed to have the telemedicine option because it is really helpful!
